Custom Machining of Cork for the Aerospace/Defense Industry

When approached by a client in the aerospace/defense industry to manufacture chassis wiring insulators, our staff had all the necessary qualifications to handle this project. The customer needed these cork trays to be strong, dense, flexible, and heat and vibration resistant. Ablative cork material met all the requirements. After developing the process for machining the cork, Cupps machined the cork tray chassis wiring insulators to lengths of 5" to 35", widths of 2.5" to 10", and thicknesses of .25" to .50". For this machining project we worked to tightest tolerances of .020" and met the customer supplied print standards and AS9100 requirements.
